I want to thank God, you and The Great Spirit Center for giving me a new beginning. I was in an unbelievable state of mind and financial chaos with a 2 1/2 year old child. Without your help, I don't know what i would have done. You helped me with counseling, to find an apartment, proficed furniture, food, clothing and education. Now 2 years later, I am off of welfare, have a career and I am working. I could not have made it through cosmetology without your help. All is well and I have a new life. I can never thank you enough forhelping me to stay with this program until this day of my financial freedom. I love you.

Ms. Princely, I would like thank you for continuing to open doors for me that I am unable to open for myself. I am so grateful for your GREAT SPIRIT program that I am writing this letter to you and also to thank the people who are helping you to help me to turn my life around, giving me another chance to reach my goals and dreams.

I am grateful to Channel 11 because they also covered this local story here in Compton. Usually the television camera comes only to cover the undesirable stories filled with tragedy in Compton and South Central, but channel 11 came to air something positive. The community reaction is that "now there is hope and someone cares". It was on Channel 11 that I found you. It was Sunday, and I had turned on the TV as I was really depressed that day and I was determined to try and help myself out of this situation. I was just recovering from a heart attack due to a number of stressful problems. I had lost my job, my husband walked out leaving me with the financial problems and children. I heard this lady say that if you are a single parent and need help, call me at the Great Spirit Center. I had felt so alone in this world, that I called the number given out on The Midday Sunday Show with Tony Valdez.

I sent to Ms. Christina Princely the 5 page letter outlining my problems. Then I met with her and she immediately proved food, healthy food, fresh vegetables, milk, cheese, and then on Thanksgiving Day, Ms. Princely brought groceries with 2 Turkeys and all the trimmings, not only for me, but for my neighbors and Fox 11 came to take

pictures of this story.

When I first met Ms. Princely, I had called the telephone company to request an extension. They told me NO, that this was the last extension. I called Ms. Princely and told her. She called in my behalf and was able to obtain the extension for me, past the original requested date that I had asked for and needed, giving me more time to pay it. This was really incredible. No sooner did I get the telephone problem solved, the light problem came up. They TURNED OFF my lights. This matter was a little more difficult and I just knew that no one could handle this, because when the electricity is turned off, it is off until all money is paid, plus deposits and plus reconnection fees and you have to wait until someone comes to turn it back on. But after Ms. Princely called in my behalf, they turned my lights back on WITHOUT A DEPOSIT, WITHOUT PAYMENT AND WITHIN 1 HOUR, after they had turned them off. This was a Miracle.

As if these problems were not enough, my car was about to be repossessed. I called Ms. Princely and told her that without a car, I could not look for job to help myself. I told her that I was having to hide my car. She said "where is the car now?" and I told her that I had hidden it. Ms. Christina Princely said " well, we have to operate in truth, so let me see what I can do". Then she asked me for the name of the person who owned the car and who I made the payments to. I was afraid to tell her, but I trusted her and told her. Then she called them and made arrangements with them to RE-WRITE" my contract and give me another chance. And they did just that. They rewrote my contract, waived the arrears of 5 months and gave another chance. I am so grateful to Ms. Princely and the car company for not repossessing my car.

Just when I thought I was getting my life straight, the car that I had just saved, fell apart. I was sick like I was about to have another stroke. Then I called Ms. Christina Princely again and told her that the oil leaked out and I could not drive it two blocks without putting oil in it. Ms. Christina Princely said to me "The Great Spirit Center is not a Welfare Program; we help people who are trying to help themselves, so you get the telephone directory, look for the phone number of the dealers who would care for your car in your neighborhood and call me with the numbers." I did just that.

Well, to my surprise, after Ms Christina Princely called them, I received a phone call back and they sent a Tow truck to see what the trouble was. It could be driven, so they took it back to the Corvair Chevrolet Dealership here and they kept my car for 5 days. When I go it back, I got back a new car. This is what the statement say:

1. Install replacement engine assembly

2. Replaced oil pan and gaskets

3. Inspect brakes, replaced front brake pads and replaced rotors

4. Clean and service rear brakes.

5. Replaced front and back tires and front end alignment

6. Repair suspension

7. Check headlight operation and replaced headlight lamp

8. Check pass door handle and replaced door handle

9. Washed and cleaned the car

The Total Bill including parts and labor was $3995.00 and they DID NOT CHARGE ME.

THIS WAS TRULY A MIRACLE and one of the greatest gift and they all came through THE GREAT SPIRIT CENTER program.

I want to get off of welfare and help others to do the same. THE GREAT SPIRIT CENTER program is not a welfare system. I am not ashamed to ask for help because I know I am learning to help myself. My dream is to be independent and support my family. By working with THE GREAT SPIRIT CENTER, I have more confidence that I can achieve my goals. I have so much more to say, but I will have to continue in another letter. Thank you, Christina Princely and THE GREAT SPIRIT CENTER.

Miss Christina

This is ( minor child). I am Hispanic and in the 8th grade. I am writing to you this letter to thank you for the clothing and books to start to school. I thank Mr. Willis and Mr. Edward of Target also. My mama doesn't have enough money to buy new clothes.

I will tell what I got to wear to school. I got two pair of wrangler jeans, 6 pair of socks, 3 pairs of boxe5s, 1 button shirt, tee shirt , 1 pair of shoes. I am 13 and I am getting C's and B's but these new clothes will give me better grades like A's. I am also living in East Los Angeles and live in a very small 1 bedroom duplex on a graffiti street.

To Whomever should read this:

I am the mother of one small child. Please know that I have worked hard all my life. I am conscientious and a well-organized person. I was an honor student in high school and college. The circumstance of my life do not imply that I want welfare, am lazy, difficult to live with or am a bad person. A divorce from an irresponsible husband and father threw me into these circumstances.

I am thankful for the support and presence of Christina Princely and her organization because not only does she sustain people such as myself with material needs, but also with hope and perspective to carry on. Battling the social stigmas attached to this predicament is hard, if not impossible to do alone. Without Christina's emotional support, as well as helping me with financial solutions, food, clothing and update my educational requirements for a new career, I would not be as competent today as i am able to be. Her support allows me added strength to face the challenges of procuring employment, maintaining that employment, single-parenting and all that entails.

Thanks to Christina Princely and The Great Spirit Center. I have been put back on the right track with the help of Christina's Counseling. She helped me pick myself up when I was really down, depressed and helped me with encouragement when I didn't think I had the strength to go on. I was ready to give up and throw in the towel. My problems were too many, too big for me to face.

After she took the time to talk tome and show how much she cares (I thought I was all alone), she showed me how to straighten out my problems, get my priorities straight and to have faith. She made sure that I had adequate food supply and was able to look for employment. I am doing well now.

I am a single parent with 5 children from 4 years old to 19 years old. We are living in a 2 bedroom apt it took 6 years to get. I must work at night in order to be home, I can care for my 4 year old, because day care is too high. By the time I pay bills and buy food, I don't have money to buy clothing and other things we need.

Now that I got a place to stay, I need some furniture and more beds. Christina is helping me to get furniture, clothing, food, counseling and job training. I thank God for showing me there is someone out there interested in helping single parents. Christina has given me hope that a change will come for us and my kids might have a good future and not have to go on welfare again.

Hi, I am a single mom with a young daughter. I have been a single parent since her birth and have had to take care of her by myself. There has been a lot of hardship and very difficult for us.

This letter to you is hard for me to put in words the peace of mind that you have given my family and me. It is more than words could say. I truly feel that God lead my husband to you. A landlord who wasn�t the real owner of the house took us advantage of and he kept our money for the house that we leased. We were made to move out with nowhere to go or any money. The house was an empty house in foreclosure and he leased it to us until the foreclosure took it from us.

Without your help we would not have a place to stay, or food to eat. The food from the Great Spirit Center has been a tremendous help. And thanks for the furniture for my little girl. Thank God for the help and support of The Great Spirit Center and Christina Ann Princely.

To the Great Spirit Center I say Thank you. I am 22 years old. I was living on the streets since I was 17 years old. I was addicted to drugs, but I finally got myself off the drugs and then became pregnant. I have a little daughter and I live in a room with her in Newport Beach. I am on welfare and the rent is high here.

I saw Christina Princely on Fox 11 and Channel 9. I called her and she has helped me to get baby clothes, food, clothes and things that I could not get. Due to the problems attached to being on welfare, people here are pretty unhappy and it makes it hard to be pleasant with one another. We all have problems, but Christina gives us hope and helps us to look to a future. When my baby is older, I want to work and be able to help others like Christina is helping us. I am moving to a small HUD apartment. Thank you Christina.

Thank you Christina Princely and The Great Spirit Center. In November, a incident of domestic violence destroyed our family living situation. I was forced to flee and seek shelter at a battered women's shelter. With all the chaos, I found myself temporary out of work, no place to call home and with a small child. My life in the past was normal and my earnings were upwards $35,000 plus in my career. I was in real estate and when the baby demanded my time, my career fell apart. Problems began and I found myself alone with a baby, jobless and homeless and a husband running from the responsibility to pay his share.

It was then that I was introduced to Christina Princely. I explained my problems and she immediately found me an apartment, furnished it with furniture, house wares and food. She helped me to find good childcare and put in back in school to build my confidence, start a new career and give me hope to carry on.

Thank God for Christina Princely and The Great Spirit Center. Without her help, I could not have made the changes in my life.
